The AEAWA has received a response from SJA regarding the Minderoo Foundation surgical masks. Despite the response indicating that the masks have been manufactured in accordance with Australian Standards, the packaging on these masks does not appear to indicate compliance with AS 4381: 2015. We also direct our members to the packaging for these masks, which advises that they are unsuitable for use in areas with a ‘high risk of fluid and spray’ We will communicate further information as we receive it.
