It has come to our attention that senior management have been monitoring activity on closed external Facebook groups, including the ‘Just for Us’ group, a group which is neither affiliated with St John, nor run by St John. The ‘Just for Us’ group uses no St John imagery and does not reference St John in either it’s group name or group description. It is a group who’s purpose is predominantly trade and skill sharing.
St John have begun the process of speaking with officers who have ‘liked’ or commented on any meme which they have considered offensive.
The AEAWA urge all member’s not to engage in discussions with management in respect to activity on this Facebook group, without first speaking to a delegate.
The AEAWA will be raising our objections with Employee Relations as a matter of urgency. In the interim, please be mindful that your online activity may be monitored outside of official St John media platforms.
