2020 CEP Programme:

Members, On 18th May the AEAWA wrote to SJA management seeking an update on the organisation’s plans for the 2020 CEP programme for Paramedics, SOC staff, and Transport Officers. CEP typically begin in approximately 6 weeks time. The committee understand that the declared pandemic creates unique and challenging difficulties in relation to group training sessions.

Despite this, clarity as to whether or not CEP will proceed would mean our members could adequately plan their CPD hours. SJA also has obligations under the Certified Agreement in relation to CEP hours. In addition, the WA Governments recently released ‘roadmap’ to easing restrictions may have ease some of these challenges of group training sessions. We have received an interim response (attached) which states simply that SJA are ‘exploring options to safely facilitate CEP within the current environment’, and that they ‘expect to be in a position to provide an update to AEAWA and employees in the near future.’ Please be assured we will continue to advocate for our members and will update our membership as soon as more information becomes available.
